Brahma Kumaris: Practical Tips from Spiritual Theory

These practical tips from Brahma Kumaris can help improve your life.

I especially find the “start it; finish it” tip enlightening as I have a tendency to start a project but not finish it. When the projects are dear to me in some personal way, there would be a nagging feeling for me to go back to the task and complete it. One example of this was what happened before I completed my first self-published book. There were several things that were to be done before the book was ready – re-editing, designing the book cover, writing the book blurb. When I finally took time away from full-time work and was working freelance, one of the goals then was to use the free time to complete my book. I decided to just bite the bullet and finish what I need to do because while working full-time, I had an unfulfilling feeling as I was helping others complete their books, but left mine undone. When I finally fulfilled my dream of publishing a book, it was a load off my mind. This episode also strengthened my resolve that I could accomplish the dreams that I have in my life, even at first, they seem enormous.

So, on the day I read this tip, I immediately practice it on what I was doing that day, and it was delightful at the end of the day to know that I concentrated and completed each task that needed to be done that day before I started on another task. It did give me peace of mind.

I encourage everyone to practice this tip, especially if you have undone projects that you have always wanted to work on and finish them. Try it and see the difference in your mood.
