The Power of Our Thoughts

In my previous post, I mentioned this phrase “As a Man Thinketh”. This is actually the title of a book by James Allen which was published in 1903. In this book, James Allen described the power of our thoughts. It’s a small volume, with fewer than 30 pages, and can easily be read in one sitting.

I would encourage anyone who wants to know more about the powerful of our thoughts and need inspiration on fulfilling their dreams to read this booklet.

Here is my summary of the writings in this book for those who might want to get an idea of what this book is all about.

  • Our thoughts build our characters and our characters are being developed through our circumstances.
  • A happy and healthy mind will help us build up a strong and healthy body.
  • We should all have a purpose in our lives so that we are not affected by the minor worries and fears in our lives. Even for those of us who are still searching for our purposes in lives, to build our resolution, we should give our best in whatever we do.
  • Although someone might want to help you, you need to be willing to accept the assistance. Next, you have to develop your own strength to overcome your own adversities.
  • Cherish our dreams, visions and ideals and through continuous effort, we would be able to achieve our goals.
  • Everyone loves to be around someone who is calm and composed. Calmness can be developed through effort in self-control and having the right thoughts.

I sincerely ask that you read the booklet to fully grasp the wisdom written by James Allen. You can view a free copy of this book from Project Gutenberg.
